Based on 7 reviews
Comparing two virtual reality headsets can be a tricky task, and so I'm going to break down the specifications of each headset and give my personal opinion on which one I prefer.
The HP Reverb G2 is a mixed reality headset with a 114° field of view and 2160 x 2160 resolution. It requires an Intel Core i5, i7 or Intel Xeon E3-1240 v5 processor, along with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 for graphics. It also has 360 tracking and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. This is certainly good in terms of specs, as the higher field of view and higher resolution will provide you with better immersion into the virtual world. The refresh rate being at 90Hz also provides smoother gameplay experience. However, since it's a mixed reality headset it may be more expensive than regular PC VR headsets like the ImmersiON-VRelia PRO-DG1 which we'll discuss next.
The ImmersiON-VRelia PRO-DG1 is a PC VR headset with a 123° field of view and 1080 × 1920 resolution. It has room scale tracking capabilities and runs at 30 Hz refresh rate. This makes it much cheaper than the HP Reverb G2 but this does come with some downsides as well - such as lower resolution compared to the Reverb G2 and slower frame rates due to its lower refresh rate. This could make certain games feel laggy or stuttery when playing them compared to using something like the Reverb G2 instead that has a higher refresh rate and resolution along with other features like room scale tracking built in which are missing from this model .
Ultimately after trying both headsets out for myself I have decided that for me personally, the HP Reverb G2 was my favorite simply due to its higher specs like its high resolutions display (2160x2160px) , wide field of view (114°), faster frame rates (90hz) along with room scale tracking technology all packed into one neat package making this great value for money in comparison to competitors on market today.. As far as cons go there might be some who find it too expensive but if you're looking for top quality performance then this is definitely worth considering over any other headset currently available on the market right now!
