When you compare the Sony PlayStation VR to the HTC VIVE Cosmos you can see which VR Headset is better. Let's take a look of the comparison, and see which model of VR Headset out ontop.
When it comes to virtual reality headsets, the Sony PlayStation VR and HTC VIVE Cosmos are two of the most popular options. Both offer different features and specifications, so it is important to look at each one in detail before deciding which is right for you.
The Sony PlayStation VR has a field of view of 100°, a resolution of 1920 × 1080 px, 360 tracking capabilities and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. This headset offers good value for money as the specs are good enough to provide an immersive gaming experience. The downsides include its somewhat limited resolution compared to other PC VR headsets on the market and its slightly narrower field of view than some competitors.
The HTC VIVE Cosmos has a much higher resolution than the PlayStation VR at 2880 × 1700 px with room-scale tracking capabilities and a 110° field of view. It also has 360 tracking capabilities with a 90 Hz refresh rate which gives you smoother visuals when playing games or watching videos. The downside is that this headset is more expensive than the PlayStation VR, but you get what you pay for as it provides great clarity in both visuals and audio quality when used with compatible content.
In terms of user experience, both headsets provided an immersive gaming experience with great sound quality from headphones worn while using them. However I found that I had more issues connecting my Playstation VR then I did connecting my Vive Cosmos due to the Playstation needing multiple steps before being able connect properly, whereas Vive was mostly plug-and-play setup. With regards to comfortability, I found that Playstation's design allowed me to adjust it better since it was lighter weight while still giving me full range movement without any noticeable drag on my head compared to Vives design where there was slight tugging whenever I moved around quickly in-game or adjusting between rooms quickly during play sessions (even after making sure straps were adjusted correctly).
Overall if budget isn't an issue then I would suggest investing in the HTC VIVE Cosmos as it offers superior specs such as higher resolutions, faster refresh rates and wider fields of view compared to PSVRs offerings – all things that give gamers greater immersion into their favorite titles through visuals alone - however if money is tight then going for PSVR may be best option since its performance output still exceeds that offered by lower tier entry level products like Oculus Go etc., plus its reduced price tag means you won’t have too many sacrifices either way if purchasing this device over its competition in similar categories.
