Based on 11 reviews
When it comes to PC virtual reality headsets, two popular models are the HTC VIVE Pro 2 and the HTC Pro Eye. Both headsets offer a compelling option for users looking for an immersive experience that can transport them into different virtual worlds.
The HTC VIVE Pro 2 offers a 120° field of view, 2448 × 2448 px resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz which makes it great for high-end VR experiences. It is also compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems, supports Room Scale and 360 tracking as well as having a minimum CPU requirement of Intel Core i5-4590 or AMD Ryzen 1500 equivalent or greater, plus NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 480 equivalent or greater graphics card. The main pro to this headset is its superior resolution and field of view in comparison to other PC headsets, making it perfect for playing games and watching movies in high quality VR. On the downside, the minimum system requirements may be too demanding for some PCs leading to potential performance issues if not met.
The HTC Pro Eye has a 110° field of view with 1440 × 1600 px resolution along with 90Hz refresh rate making it suitable mid range VR headset that's still able to deliver decent visuals with relatively low system requirements compared to other headsets on the market. This particular headset also supports Room Scale and 360 tracking which allows you more freedom when using it than other comparable models out there so that you don't have to worry about cables getting in your way during play time. Unfortunately, however, because its specs are lower than those of the VIVE Pro 2 its visuals won't be quite as impressive; this could lead to poorer performance when running intensive tasks such as gaming at higher resolutions or frame rates than what's available from the built-in hardware.
In terms of personal opinion on which headset I prefer using out of these two options; I would have to say that my preference goes towards the HTC VIVE Pro 2 due mainly because I'm attracted by its superb image quality coupled with very powerful system specifications needed in order run tasks on them efficiently without experiencing any stutters or delays whilst playing games at maximum settings or streaming movies at 4K resolution levels. The only con being its steep cost relative to competing products but considering everything else this might just be worth splashing out on given all the features packed into one product package including support for Room Scale room setups allowing more expansive movements within virtual spaces without cables getting tangled up around feet causing unnecessary problems during playtime Overall I think either product would suffice depending upon individual budgets but for me personally I'd go for investing more money towards obtaining better performing hardware like what's provided through HTC VIVE Pro 2 since sometimes sacrificing cheaper prices can result in better long term outcomes rather than short sighted ones potentially resulting from compromising too much over quality versus price points/features offered by competing manufacturers' products
