When you compare the HTC VIVE Pro to the Samsung HMD Odyssey+ you can see which VR Headset is better. Let's take a look of the comparison, and see which model of VR Headset out ontop.
Based on 2 reviews
After doing an extensive review of both the HTC VIVE Pro and the Samsung HMD Odyssey+, I am pleased to say that both virtual reality headsets offer an excellent user experience. Although there are some differences between the two, it really comes down to personal preference as to which one is better.
When it comes to specs, they are quite similar. Both have a 110 degree field of view, a 1440×1600 pixel resolution, room scale 360 tracking and a 90 Hz refresh rate. The main difference between them is in terms of hardware requirements; the HTC VIVE Pro requires an Intel Core i5-4590 processor along with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card while the Samsung HMD Odyssey+ does not have any minimum hardware requirements apart from Windows operating system.
In terms of pros for each headset: The HTC VIVE Pro has higher end components which makes it suitable for more intensive gaming applications than its counterpart; this would make it great for gamers who want top performance out of their VR headsets. On the other hand, the Samsung HMD Odyssey+’s lower hardware requirement makes it more accessible for those on a tighter budget who still want quality VR experiences without sacrificing too much performance; this could also be attractive to people who don’t want or need a high end setup but still want good quality VR experience.
The cons between them would be largely dependent on what you value most in your headset purchase. For instance, someone who values top performance might find the lack of higher end components in the Samsung HMD Odyssey+ to be a deal breaker whereas someone looking for something affordable may not see it as an issue at all. Similarly, if you don’t plan on using your headset with Mac OS then that might not be seen as an issue either since both headsets work with Windows anyway so support shouldn’t be much different regardless of which model you pick up.
My own opinion about these two headsets is that they each offer different strengths and weaknesses depending on what you are looking for in your VR setup; as such neither one should necessarily take precedence over another when making your decision – it ultimately comes down to what features best suit your needs and desires when selecting your device! That said, I personally prefer the HTC VIVE Pro due its superior component specs; this means I can get better performance out my gaming sessions compared to when using the Samsung HMD Odyssey+.
