When you compare the HTC VIVE Pro 2 to the Oculus Rift S you can see which VR Headset is better. Let's take a look of the comparison, and see which model of VR Headset out ontop.
When it comes to VR headsets, the HTC VIVE Pro 2 and Oculus Rift S offer a variety of features for users to enjoy. Both headsets have some pros and cons that need to be considered before making a decision on which one is best for you.
In terms of field of view, the HTC VIVE Pro 2 provides 120° while the Oculus Rift S offers 115°. This difference may not seem like much at first glance but when you consider how immersive an experience virtual reality can be having a larger field of view allows you to take in more of your surroundings, creating an even better experience. This makes the VIVE Pro 2 a clear winner in this aspect as it provides more than enough viewing area compared to its competitor.
The resolution is another key factor when looking at these two headsets. The HTC VIVE Pro 2 has an impressive 2448 x 2448 px resolution while the Oculus Rift S offers 2560 x 1440 px. Both provide good image quality but here the HTC VIVE Pro 2 takes the win with its greater pixel density providing sharper images and colors that are more vivid than what you'd get with the Oculus Rift S.
Next up we have refresh rate with both headsets offering something different for gamers out there – 120 Hz for HTC VIVE Pro 2 and 80 Hz for Oculus Rift S. With regards to refresh rate, a higher number will result in smoother motion which means games will feel much better while playing them on either headset thanks to their respective refresh rates that ensure optimal performance no matter what type of content you're consuming or producing with either headset. In this regard, both headsets perform well but again, due to its higher refresh rate, we must give this point once again go towards the HTC VIVE Pro 2.
Finally there are minimum system requirements when it comes to playing games or experiencing virtual reality content – Intel Core i5-4590 or AMD Ryzen 1500 equivalent or greater for VIVE Pro 2; Intel i3-6100 / AMD Ryzen 3 1200, FX4350 or greater for Oculus Rift S and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060/AMD Radeon RX 480 equivalent or greater (Vive) vs Nvidia GTX 1050Ti/AMD Radeon RX 470 or greater (Oculus). This means that both models require quite powerful PCs in order to run properly so users should bear this in mind when looking into getting one of these devices as they could potentially cost extra money if their PC doesn't meet those specs already - although having said that most modern PCs would be able meet these specifications anyway so this shouldn't prove too much of a problem nowadays!
Overall I prefer using the HTC Vive Pro2 over my own experience with using the Oculus Rift S mainly due its higher field of view and resolution along with having support for room scale tracking capabilities – all great features especially if you want an immersive VR experience at home without having spend too much money upfront on hardware costs! Ultimately though if you don’t care about those additional features then either headset would do just fine since they offer similar performance overall regardless of which one you decide upon ultimately - your choice really just depends on whether any additional features are important factors when making your decision between these two amazing pieces technology!
