When you compare the Avegant Glyph to the Oculus Rift you can see which VR Headset is better. Let's take a look of the comparison, and see which model of VR Headset out ontop.
This product comparison will cover two virtual reality headsets: the Avegant Glyph and the Oculus Rift.
Starting with the Avegant Glyph, we can see that it has a field of view of 40°, which is slightly less than what other PC VR headsets have to offer, making it not as immersive as its competitors. Its resolution is 1280 x 720 px, which is relatively low compared to what other headsets are capable of delivering in this price range. The operating system support includes Linux, Mac OS, and Microsoft Windows; however, it doesn’t come with any room scale or 360 tracking features. Lastly, its refresh rate stands at 60 Hz.
Moving on to the Oculus Rift; we can see that its field of view is 110° - much better than what the Avegant Glyph offers. Its resolution stands at 1080 x 1200 px which isn’t bad but could be improved upon by using higher-end hardware like an Intel i3-6100 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 CPU and Nvidia GTX 1050Ti or AMD Radeon RX 470 graphics card. It also comes with room scale technology along with 360 tracking capabilities for a more immersive experience compared to the Avegant Glyph headset. Lastly, its refresh rate clocks in at 90 Hz – far higher than what most PC VR headsets currently offer today.
Between these two virtual reality headsets I personally prefer the Oculus Rift due to its higher field of view along with better resolution and 360 tracking capabilities making for an overall more enjoyable experience when playing games or watching videos through this headset. Not only that but its inclusion of room scale technology makes up for some unique experiences that you won’t find on competing products such as the Avegant Glyph headset. The main downside being that you need a powerful enough computer setup in order to make full use out of all these features offered by this particular headset – something worth considering if you're looking into buying one yourself!
