When you compare the HTC VIVE Pro 2 to the HTC VIVE you can see which VR Headset is better. Let's take a look of the comparison, and see which model of VR Headset out ontop.
When comparing the HTC VIVE Pro 2 and the HTC VIVE, both headsets are excellent virtual reality devices that offer a lot of features for the user. The Vive Pro 2 has a wider field of view at 120 degrees compared to 110 degrees on the original Vive, allowing for an even more immersive experience. The resolution on the Vive Pro 2 is also much higher than its predecessor with 2448 x 2448 px compared to 1080 x 1200 px on the original Vive. This allows for crisper images and smoother performance when in game or watching movies.
In terms of CPU requirements, both headsets require an Intel Core i5-4590 or AMD Ryzen 1500 equivalent or greater, however the minimum graphics required are different with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 480 required by the Vive Pro 2 and only Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 480 necessary for running games on the original Vive headset. With this in mind, it is evident that playing games at higher settings is more suited towards those who have access to better hardware such as RTX series GPUs and CPUs from Intel’s Core i7 range or better yet their X-series lineup.
Both headsets have room scale support which can be great for larger spaces such as living rooms where you can move around without fear of wires getting tangled up and causing a tripping hazard. In addition, both headsets also feature 360° tracking which helps ensure that whatever movement your body makes during gaming is tracked accurately so that you never miss out on any important movements within your gaming session. As far as refresh rate goes, there’s a considerable difference between what each device offers; The HTC VIVE Pro 2 operates at 120 Hz while its predecessor manages only 90 Hz refresh rate which means smoother motion when playing fast paced games like first person shooters (FPS).
To sum things up based on my personal experience using these two products: I found both headsets had great build quality; however I preferred the look and feel of wearing the VIVE Pro 2 due to its adjustable sizing dial located near the rear head strap enabling me to find my exact fit regardless if I’m wearing glasses underneath it or not. Additionally, I found its image clarity was slightly better than what I experienced while using its predecessor with less motion blur making some fast moving sequences more enjoyable while playing through certain titles such as Half Life Alyx from Valve Corporation whose visuals really shone through thanks to this feature set upgrade from HTC’s engineers resulting in a richer VR experience overall compared to before going ‘Pro’ with my setup here today!
