The Samsung Gear VR and Snapchat New Spectacles are two of the most popular virtual reality headsets on the market today. Both offer unique features, but each have their own advantages and disadvantages.

The Samsung Gear VR is a smartphone-based headset that offers users an immersive experience with its wide field of view of 101°, as well as its high resolution display of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It also has the ability to track 360 degrees in real time, giving users a realistic sensation when using the device. The downside to this device is its limited refresh rate of 60 Hz, which may not be suitable for those who prefer higher refresh rates for smoother gameplay or graphics performance.

In comparison, the Snapchat New Spectacles are AR glasses that allow users to experience augmented reality in first person view. While they don't offer quite as impressive specs as their rival Samsung Gear VR, they still pack a punch with their 26° field of view and 480 x 564 pixel resolution displays. They also have room scale tracking capabilities similar to that found on other virtual reality devices such as HTC Vive or Oculus Rift, allowing you to move around more freely within your augmented world. The only downside to these glasses is that they do not support any kind of 360 degree video playback due to their lower resolutions compared to other headsets in this category.

In conclusion both headsets offer different experiences depending on what you are looking for from a virtual reality device; however I personally prefer the Samsung Gear VR because it offers better visuals and a wider field of view than its counterpart Snapchat New Spectacles. In addition, I found its smooth tracking capabilities helped me stay immersed within my gaming environment without having too many motion issues like some AR headsets tend to suffer from during fast movement scenes or when playing intense games requiring quick reflexes..
