When you compare the Samsung Odyssey to the LG UltraGear VR you can see which VR Headset is better. Let's take a look of the comparison, and see which model of VR Headset out ontop.
I have been testing out two of the best PC virtual reality headsets available on the market today, the Samsung Odyssey and the LG UltraGear VR. Both are highly rated and well-crafted products that offer users an immersive experience. Here I will compare the specifications of both headsets to help you decide which is right for you.
In terms of field of view, both devices offer a wide 110° field view. The resolution however varies between each headset, with the Samsung offering 1440 x 1600px while the LG provides 1440 x 1280px; both being more than sufficient for a great visual experience.
The operating system used by each device differs slightly as they are compatible with Microsoft Windows; however one must take note that when using Samsung’s model, it requires an Intel Core i5 CPU and at least an Nvidia GTX1050 graphics card which may not be necessary in all setups. On the other hand, there is no such requirement for LG’s headset and so is more convenient to use in this respect if already owning a computer setup with lower specs.
Both headsets are capable of room scale tracking and 360 degree movements; providing users with complete control over their environment. Furthermore, each device has a 90 Hz refresh rate allowing them to handle even intensive games without any issues or delays that would otherwise lead to nausea or discomfort during playtime.
When reviewing these two virtual reality headsets side by side, I can safely say that both are viable options depending on your specific needs - especially if one already owns a powerful enough computer setup as there is no requirement then for purchasing extra hardware (as mentioned above). However personally speaking my preference goes towards Samsung's product due to its higher resolution display along with its ability to run most games at maximum settings without any stutter or hiccups; making it ideal for those who require something more advanced than just casual gaming experiences.
